Who we are

Tuscan Heart is a car rental with driver and shuttle services agency that will be your conveyor and guide to the secret heart of Tuscany.
After a 10 years’ experience in the field we started this new project, with the idea in mind of letting our clients discover what real Tuscany is: a land of beauty and poetry, of exceptional tastes, colors and perfumes; and we love this land so much that we are truly able to let you experience it the way it is meant to be.
So, a new kind of service, designed especially for those who, even if in a cruise and with limited time, want to explore the beauties of this region. Among the art and the landscapes, this land has much more to give… and our offers include, for example, together with the Tours and the short Excursions, a journey into its unique tastes, with the best Cooking Schools of Tuscany.
Start your discovery of Tuscany from here… and don’t forget that we are at your complete disposal, so leave any questions or requests in our contact form!
Each suggested tour or excursion you can view on this website is only a suggestion based on previous requests by our clients.

Absolutely perfect experience for cruise day excursions from Livorno and Civitavecchia - If you are taking a Mediterranean cruise that stops in Livorno and Civitavecchia, there are many reasons why you DO NOT want to book with your cruise ship. Rome... read more and Florence are pretty far from the ports, and the streets are tiny. Very often you will be put on a bus that is too big to get through the streets to the sites you want to see, and you will have to march (through 90 degree heat in the summer) to the sites, and then march back to the bus. You will be on an itinerary set by the tour with no flexibility. For the same (or even LESS) money you can book private and have a car just for you and your friends with a knowledgeable driver/tour guide that will tailor your day (on the fly even) to your exact wants. Tuscan Heart provided my friend and I two days that were exactly what we wanted in vehicles that could drive us right up to the sites. In Rome, because we only had a day, we did not want to spend it in lines - simply no time for that in a day. We wanted to just see the sites from the outside, and I especially wanted to see Castell Sant'Angelo. We were taken first to the highest point in Rome where we could soak in the views, then to the Colisseum, Circus Maximus, "Wedding Cake", Trevi fountain, lunch at a great place for locals selected by our guide (reserved table), and then to St. Peter's Square and the Castell. We saw what we wanted for the amount of time we wanted and when we were done, we were back on the ship on the sun deck. Pisa and Florence were similar - just the two of us in a car with Mattia, who took us to the tower, the cathedral and baptistry, another great lunch reserved for us, and best of all, some kind of ticket for the David that let us TRULY skip the line - we just walked right to the front and into the museum. We had time for shopping, and time to pity all the bus tour people who were being frog-marched around in the 100(!) degree heat because BUSSES CANNOT GET INTO THE DOWNTOWN FLORENCE AREA, and then back to the boat on our schedule. (We ran into a bad traffic jam on the way back, and another benefit of a private car - Mattia could immediately jump off the highway and circumvent the jam on the side streets. Such a maneuver would have been impossible on a bus.) We learned a ton from Christian and Mattia. Let me close by repeating: Why would you pay MORE for a cruise mega bus that let's you do less on an immutable schedule when you could have a perfect private experience tailored just to you in a car with your own guide? Go with Tuscan Heart.

Rome and Florence can be busy, big and impersonal. Want somewhere beautiful to hide for a few days and to interact with locals - then Lucca might be for you.... read more The city is hidden in medieval walls, easily reached by train from Florence and Rome and a suitable base for trips to Cinque Terre and Pisa. The city is beautiful - all building are old and in good conditions. There are plenty of restaurants and shops and the atmosphere is laid back.
